The Apostille legalisation only is used for documents intended for use in countries that are part of the Hague Apostille Convention 1961. Embassy legalisation, on the other hand, is required for documents destined for countries that are not party to the Convention. The documents intended for non-Signatory countries need to be first Apostilled then taken to the relevant Embassy for further legalisation. Embassy legalisation involves additional steps and may take longer to complete.
