The e-Notarisation process involves the electronic certification and signing of documents by a Notary Public, satisfying legal requirements for overseas use. The notary public must satisfy the requirement by the FCDO of using the Advanced Electronic Signature (AES) or a Qualified Electronic Signature (QES). The notary may still need to receive the original in order to notarise an electronic copy, unless it is shared with the notary by UK public officials or universities.
