LEGALISATION REQUIREMENT FOR Malaysia

Malaysia is a member of the Hague Convention of 1961 and the FCDO Apostille only should suffice for documents to be used in Malaysia.

The Malaysian High Commission in London still provides further legalisation, if required. Please confirm the requirements with the local instructing party in Malaysia.

FEES

The FCDO Apostille fee is £40 for standard service, £100 for premium service or £35 for e-Apostille service.

The Malaysian High Commission fee is £5 per document.

PROCESSING TIME

The FCDO Turnaround time is likely to be 1-2 working days for standard service (paper-based), 5-6 hours for premium service or 5-48 hours for the e-Apostille service.

The Malaysian High Commission processing time is likely to be 3-4 working days.

For the legalisation of a marriage certificate, the consular requires a copy of the passport from both spouses.
