Legalisation requirements for Cyprus (Turkish Republic of Northern)
Document for use in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) can be either Apostilled only OR attested by the TRNC Representative Office in London and for the latter, it must not bear an Apostille by the FCDO.
The document must be certified by a UK Notary Public or Solicitor and their signature must be attested directly by the consular officer.
FEES
The consular fee is £25 per document/signature plus a postal order fee which starts from £5 depending on the payment amount.
PROCESSING TIME
The consular processing time is likely to be 2-5 working days if sending the document via post.
IMPORTANT NOTES
A passport copy for each signatory is required to be notarised and stapled together with the Power of Attorney requiring legalisation.
Notarised documents must be stapled only. Please DO NOT bind the documentation with ribbon, corners and/or eyelets because the Consulate will remove them to issue their stamping on the top left corner of the documentation and put it through their scanner before releasing it.
Method of payment: Cash OR postal order payable to KKTC Consolidate Fund.
Prior appointment is required for submission in person (appointments are released usually 30 days in advance) or submission and return via postal service is currently the quickest way at additional £18.90 + VAT for the Royal Mail Special Delivery service.
