Document for use in Bangladesh first needs to be legalised by way of FCDO Apostille and then submitted to the Bangladesh High Commission for further attestation.


The consular fee is £25 per commercial document including the Postal Order fee and £17.50 per private document including the Postal Order fee.


The processing time is likely to be 5 working days.


For the legalisation of private documents, the document holder/signatory must attend the consular section in person with their original proof of ID.

Only commercial documents can be legalised via Agents.

The High Commission accept documents from the Republic of Ireland, in which case must be Apostilled by the relevant authorities in Ireland for submission directly to the Consulate (no further UK Apostille is required).

Additional subordinate documentation may be required depending on the type of commercial documents submitted for legalisation. The commercial documents are attested by the Commercial wing of the High commission (4th Floor, Room-25).

A photocopy of the document is required on submission to the Hague Commission.
